Oh, that Jennylyn Pringle.  You know the one, President of The Homestead House Paint Company and the driving force behind the wonderful Fusion Mineral Paint?  Well she has done it again. This time, with the formulation of the Fusion Transfer Gel and Decoupage Medium.  Seriously, once you use this little pot of magic, you will ditch anything that came before.

Why? It works like a dream, dries clear and when used properly has no clouding.  I love it.

Top tip - finish with Fusion Clear Tough Coat Sealer, Wipe On Poly.  It gets rid of any clouding if you happen to have applied a little too much gel.

Over the years I have used all sorts of transfer mediums - the podgy, the white glue, the artists gel, the super expensive branded transfer formulations.  If it was available, I tried it.

There was a good reason for my transfer medium obsession.  Honestly.  I promise I am not some transfer gel obsessed harpy with a penchant for laser printers.  Oh yes...laser printer.  That is an important point.  Remember it.  No laser printer*, no transfer of ink.  It will not work.

If I must, I will offer full disclosure.  In a former life, (around 4 years ago), I would spend hours creating these funky little wooden furniture knobs.  They were super cute.

You have no idea how often the gel would fail or leave cruddy white bumps in my otherwise beautiful transfer.  I did not like it when that happened.

I know what I am talking about when it comes to this transfer malarky.  I could sit here and write a step by step tutorial on the process, but frankly it has been done before, the steps are the same and you can follow any one of the links below to get an excellent tutorial right away.  Just click on the images.

I will say no more other than try it.  Play with it.  Speaking as your Fusion Workshop Ambassador, (Yah, that's me), go and ask your nearest Fusion Merchant if they offer a workshop.

If you don't have a Fusion Merchant nearby go and tell your favourite store that they simply NEED to carry Fusion Mineral Paint.  It's kind of a no brainer.

So go forth and get creative.  There are three very different projects just a click away.

* Or a photocopy.  If you don't have a laser printer save your images onto a little dongle and take to to print at a print shop.  The gel is amazing with gift wrap too.  Oh, the possibilities are endless.
